Help with beta access, local data, backups, and the optional Google Calendar connection.

Beta access

The external beta is not open for general download. The first distributed build is planned for macOS after signing and notarization. Google Calendar availability also depends on production OAuth review.

No account required

Moonfold currently opens a local workspace. There is no Moonfold sign-in or cloud account.

No public installer yet

Do not trust downloads that claim to be the Moonfold beta unless they are linked from moonfold.app.

Local data and backups

Your Moonfold workspace lives on your Mac. Use Moonfold's local backup feature before major changes or beta updates, and store the resulting backup somewhere appropriate for the importance of your data.

Moonfold cannot restore local content from a server. If you remove the workspace and its backups, that content may be unrecoverable.

Google Calendar

Connecting Calendar is optional. Moonfold requests read-only event and calendar-list access first. Event creation requires a second, explicit permission and applies only to eligible timed Moonfold tasks.

If the status says reconnect, open Moonfold settings and reconnect in the system browser. If a refresh fails, your local Moonfold data remains available; cached events may simply be out of date.

See permissions and sync details

Disconnect Google Calendar

In Moonfold settings, choose the Calendar disconnect action. Moonfold will request remote token revocation and clear the local token, OAuth state, and cached events. Existing Google events and local Moonfold content are not deleted by disconnection.
